Tuscia is characterized by an ancient and intense landscape. Its development is mainly due to the fact that the Francigena Way has crossed it since the year 1000.
Marturanum Etruscan Park
Only 4 km from Villa San Giovanni in Tuscia, within the Barbarano Municipality, you can visit the Marturanum Etruscan Park, with rare flora and fauna and elements of great archeological interest. Mountain bike trails can be followed in its interior.
Viterbo and other centers
There are several small welcoming towns, where one can visit splendid palaces and renaissance Villas such as Villa Lante in Bagnaia, Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola and the Monster Park in Bomarzo, not to mention the Medieval neighborhood of San Pellegrino in Viterbo.
Sea, Lakes and Mountains
Easily reachable travelling only 20 minutes by car, one can find 37 km of large sandy beaches with vast pine tree forests and sports centers where one can practice fishing, sailing and golf. The lake of Vico, only 13 km away, offers splendid panoramic views. For the best trained, it can be reached also by mountain bike, following unpaved roads immersed in the greenery. It is, in fact, enclosed within the basin of the Cimini Mountains, among the intensity of the forests covering the surrounding slopes. Present, mainly the Ronciglione area, are thick sandy beaches and, in the entire area, it is possible to relax while horse back riding.

The waters and muds of the Viterbo area have been well known since ancient Roman times. They are fed by some small pools and most famous among them are the ones called of the Bullicame, much advised for the restoration of the body. Dante, the highest among poets, does mention them in the Divine Comedy
